Hello all my beautiful, strong, courageous ballers! I wanted to start this blog because wow do we play a tough sport! We are faced with adversity after adversity and only find success once we’ve mastered getting through that adversity with no loss of enthusiasm. Through this adversity is who we as softball players find out what our character truly is as athletes.
Character isn’t developed in ease and quiet, character can only be developed through experience and hardships. This is the only way for the mind to be strengthened, ambition to be inspired and success to be achieved. When failure knocks you on the ground just try and land on your back because if you can look up, you can get up! Rise up from your circumstances and adversities and become the softball player you are destined to be, starting today, starting now! Rise up to your potential, rise up past your limitations, rise up past friends or family limitations, rise up and set the standard for those around you! Be the example, do not conform to other people's limitations of success and lack of ambition, create your own path and lead! Life and sports are a test of your will and your skill! I say “will first” because your character and your will to be the best will take you much further in life than your specific skill in softball. You need the skill to be successful but when hard times and frustrations arise and I promise they will arise a lot, you need your will to maintain that success!
There is no other sport where you can fail 7 out of 10 times and still be successful, this is a testament to how hard this sport is. When times get tough and you need some inspiration, advice or just a laugh this blog is here to help you through becoming the best player you can be!
